Our Programs
Housing Choice Voucher/ Mainstream Voucher Programs
The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program, formerly known as "Section 8," allows eligible participants who receive vouchers to search for their own privately owned housing, which may include single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments.
The Mainstream Voucher Program assists non-elderly persons with disabilities. Aside from serving a special population, Mainstream vouchers are administered using the same rules as the HCVP.

Public housing comes in all sizes and types, from scattered single-family houses to high rise apartments. There are approximately 1.2 million households living in public housing units, managed by approximately 3,300 PHAs (HUD, 2021).
